Chloe Chek has a rare disorder Spinal muscular atrophy type 2 (SMA2). When she first started her art therapy sessions, her fingers and hands did not have the strength to hold up a pencil. properly. Through her love for art and colors, her resilience shows in her art today, which we have featured on our tote bag! This artwork was created during one of Chloe’s Art Therapy sessions. Inspired by the Art for Good mascot Blob, Chloe decided to have many multicolored blobs in her painting. The blobs have different facial expressions which represent different feelings. Art-making allows one to express many different emotions, which helps with self-expression and emotion regulation. Most importantly, she always has fun creating her art piecess!
